Your privacy should be understandable.
This Privacy Policy explains what information AskOdie collects, why it is collected, how it is used and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with AskOdie, we may collect:
- Beta-application information — the details you submit when applying to join the beta, such as your name, email address, device preferences, how you use AI today and your consent selections.
- Product and usage data — information about how the product is used during testing, collected to identify problems and improve the experience.
- Prompts, conversations and connected-service data — content you provide to Odie while using the product, and data from services you explicitly choose to connect (see “Google user data” below).
Why we collect it
- To review beta applications and select testing groups.
- To operate, maintain and improve AskOdie.
- To communicate with you about the beta, based on the consent choices you made.
- To understand which capabilities are most valuable to users.
Google user data
You can optionally connect one or more Google accounts to Odie. Each account is connected separately, with its own permission grant, and you choose which accounts to connect. When you connect a Google account, AskOdie accesses only the data needed for the features you use:
- Google Drive (read) — searching your files and reading file contents, when you ask Odie to find or use something in your Drive.
- Google Docs (write) — creating documents and adding to or editing documents, when you ask Odie to write something down.
- Gmail (read and draft only) — reading messages when you ask Odie about your email, and creating draft emails for your review. Odie cannot send email: sending is not part of the access we request from Google, and there is no send capability in the product. Every draft waits for you.
- Account email address — to label the connection in your settings and route requests to the account you name.
How this data is used. Google user data is used only to perform the action you asked for, at the time you asked for it — answering a question from a file, writing the document you requested, preparing the draft you dictated. Content retrieved from your Google account is processed by our AI infrastructure providers (such as Google Cloud) to generate Odie’s response, acting on our behalf as service providers. It is not used for advertising, not used to train generalized AI models, and not sold — to anyone, ever.
What we store. We store an encrypted credential (the OAuth refresh token, encrypted at rest) so your connection keeps working between sessions, plus the account’s email address and a label. We do not keep server-side copies of your emails or files; content is processed transiently to fulfill your request. If you explicitly ask Odie to remember something, that fact is saved to your private memory.
No human access. Humans at FAMP Ltd do not read your Google user data, except with your explicit permission (for example, a support request), where necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or to comply with applicable law.
Disconnecting. You can disconnect any Google account at any time in Settings → Connectors, which deletes the stored credential and asks Google to revoke our access. You can also revoke access from your Google account directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
AskOdie’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Service providers and sharing
We use a small number of service providers (such as cloud hosting and infrastructure providers) to operate AskOdie. We do not sell your personal information. Where data is shared with providers, it is shared to operate the service.
Retention, access, correction and deletion
We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes described above. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information — including your beta application — at any time by emailing hello@askodie.com. Deletion requests are honored except where retention is required by law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted transmission and access controls. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we encourage care with the information you choose to share during a beta.
Children’s privacy
AskOdie is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the product develops. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
